Biography
Valerie Scott was named to her current position in 2004. She has more than 25 years of experience in the utility industry. Scott started her career as a member of Ernst & Young LLP's (formerly Arthur Young and Company) audit department where she spent more than eight years serving a variety of clients. Scott held several management positions in LG&E and KU's internal auditing, energy marketing accounting, trading controls, utility accounting and financial planning areas before being promoted to her current position. Scott has a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's in business administration from the University of Louisville. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Kentucky. She has had management and executive training courses throughout her career. Her professional/trade memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on the Edison Electric Institute's Accounting Executive Advisory Committee. Scott also serves as Vice Chair for the KET Greater Louisville Regional Fund.
