Joseph P. Dowd

Biography

 Joseph Dowd was elected Global Vice President, Safety, Health, Environmental and Process Excellence in January 2016.  From July 2012 to December 2015, Mr. Dowd served as Vice President, North American Carbon Materials and Chemicals. Prior to joining Koppers, Mr. Dowd was Vice President and General Manager, North American Recycling for Exide Technologies, Inc. Previous to his tenure at Exide, he was Global President and Chief Operating Officer with Silberline Manufacturing, a global supplier of specialty chemicals to a wide range of customers in automotive coatings, inks, plastics, and other industrial coatings segments. He was also with BASF Corporation for sixteen years in various postions of increasing responsibility. Mr. Dowd has a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
