Biography

Dr. Andrew X. Chen, Ph.D., R.Ph. co-Founded Sd Pharmaceuticals Inc. since June 2004 and serves as Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Chen is a highly creative pharmaceutical chemist with 16 years of experience in pharmaceutical and formulation chemistry and the inventor on all the Companies patents. He has over 20 years of formulation experience covering small molecule, peptide, protein, nucleic acid and virus-based pharmaceuticals. His deep experience enables Latitude to rapidly pinpoint key issues with difficult compounds, enabling the rapid development of toxicology and commercial formulations. His formulations are behind one approved drug, two NDA-stage drugs and numerous clinical and preclinical stage projects. He is creative and inventive approach has led to over 25 issued and pending formulation patents, many of which list him as the sole inventor. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at a number of pharmaceutical companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Immnologic Pharmaceutical Corp., Prizm Pharmaceuticals, Selective Genetics, Inc and IriSys Inc. Dr. Chen founded Latitude Pharmaceuticals Inc in 2003 and serves as its President. He obtained his BS degree in pharmacy from Zhejiang University and his MS in PhD degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from St. John s University in New York. He is a registered pharmacist.
