Biography
Mr. Ronald A. Andrews, Jr., also known as Ronnie or Ron, has been the President of Genetic, Medical and Applied Sciences at Life Technologies Corporation since June 26, 2013. Mr. Andrews is responsible for leading Life Technologies Corporation's Ion Torrent, genetic analysis and medical sciences businesses using his deep molecular diagnostic experience in instrument systems development and commercialization, as well as the clinical application of molecular technologies, to align these businesses around a common vision as expands its business toward the clinic. He has close to 30 years in governance and executive roles in US Clinical and Molecular Diagnostics industry. His main focus is leading the transition of the molecular discoveries from the life science research area into molecular diagnostic applications to improve patient care. Mr. Andrews has more than 25 years of experience in the diagnostics industry. He served as the President of the Genetic Science Division for Thermo Fisher Scientific until December 2014. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Clarient, Inc. from July 22, 2004 to April 2008. He served as President of Medical Sciences of Life Technologies Corporation since February 2, 2012. Mr. Andrews served as the Chief Executive Officer at Clarient and Segment Leader, GE Molecular Diagnostics and led integration of Clarient, maintaining 20 per cent annual growth and establishing a strategic plan to expand GE's presence in oncology diagnostics. From August 2002, Mr. Andrews also served at Roche Molecular Diagnostics as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Commercial Business Operations. He developed and led the strategic execution for all diagnostic commercial operations.Mr. Andrews was also responsible for executive direction of all marketing functions, directed the development of the 10-year Strategic Plan for the organization and completed the reorganization of commercial operations during that period. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Andrews held two senior executive positions with Roche Diagnostics Corporation. As Vice President of United States Commercial Operations, Molecular Diagnostics, he directed sales, marketing, technical field support and product development activities and was responsible for United States commercial strategy development for the clinical laboratory market.
