Biography
Dr. Robert Davidson holds graduate degrees in nutritional science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (PhD) and Utah State University (MS). His undergraduate training was in chemistry at Utah State University. He has additional post-doctoral training in the effects of aging, calories restriction and exercise on insulin signaling in the Biodynamics Laboratory at University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as an NIH postdoctoral fellowship with the Center for Environmental Toxicology and Technology at Colorado State University learning physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling and computer simulations of biological processes. Before coming to Logan, Dr. Davidson was an assistant professor of nutrition at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Dr. Davidson’s research interests include nutrient function and interactions, bone health and mathematical modeling and computer simulations of biological processes. His research goals include the creation of a virtual human capable of simulating and predicting the effects of nutrition, exercise, environment and disease on human physical performance capabilities.
