Biography
Dr. Lonie has been a faculty member LIU Pharmacy School faculty since September 1998. An alumnus of LIU College of Pharmacy, after graduation he started a community pharmacy practice in Brooklyn- Marine Park Pharmacy. While operating his pharmacy he earned a master’s degree in psychology. After being appointed to the faculty he completed his doctoral degree in adult education and learning from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Lonie is interested in social pharmacy and pharmacy education research. He is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, research abstracts, and 3 book chapters. As an invited speaker at national and international meetings, Dr. Lonie has given presentations in the United States, Scandinavia and Europe. He has been successful in obtaining funding on external and intramural grants. Dr. Lonie is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Pharmacists Association and several state and local pharmacy associations.

Using self-reflection methodologies as a tool for personal and professional growth; Empathic communication and development in students and pharmacists; How effective conflict management skills are learned in pharmacists and other heath professionals; Academic program development.
