Biography
Kevin B. Meehan, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at LIU, Brooklyn. Dr. Meehan is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he is collaborating with his colleagues at the Personality Disorders Institute (PDI) as a researcher and study therapist in evaluating a manualized treatment for borderline personality disorder called Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). His clinical research evaluates attachment and reflective functioning as mechanisms of change in psychodynamic and interpersonal psychotherapies, as well as the process of change in patients with personality disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. His research also evaluates deficits in effortful control, affect regulation, and social cognition in both college-age and personality disordered populations. He also maintains a private practice in psychotherapy in downtown Brooklyn.
