Biography
Dr. McFarr’s clinical and research interests are in the delivery and dissemination of empirically supported treatments, specifically CBT, DBT, CBASP and ACT. Dr. McFarr trains multiple disciplines across LA County in the delivery of various CBTs. Current research projects include investigations about therapy interfering behaviors and their relation to mindfulness and functional outcomes in DBT; the relation of secondary targets (i.e, active passivity, apparent competence, inhibited grieving, etc. ) with therapy interfering behaviors in DBT; transfer of knowledge from CBT training for front line clinicians and the use of CBT in relation to clinician burnout.
