Biography
Dr. Ross' laboratory investigates the mechanisms by which exposure to maternal under-nutrition, maternal obesity or bisphenol A (BPA; contained in plastic bottles) alters the development of the fetal brain resulting in an offspring with an excessive appetite and a reduced feeling of being sated. These exposures together with programmed adipose tissue promote offspring childhood and adult obesity.
