Biography

Dr. Adarsh D. Radadia is a faculty in the Chemical Engineering Program at Louisiana Tech University starting 2011. Prior he was a post-doc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. (2009) and M.S. (2006) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, Dr. Radadia is also affiliated with the Institute for Micromanufacturing and the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr. Radadia’s research focuses on the system integration and testing of microfabricated sensors and their surface chemistry, specifically harnessing the novel properties offered by nanomaterials. Some sensors under development include, graphene biomolecular field-effect transistors, micro gas chromatography columns, and ultrananocrystalline diamond interdigitated electrodes. Dr. Radadia’s lab employs a wide variety of cleanroom-based fabrication techniques to develop such sensors, and covalent and non-covalent chemistry to tether sensing molecules to the transducing surface of the sensors. Such surfaces are routinely characterized using AFM (topography, phase, force spectroscopy, Kelvin microscopy, nanolithography, I-V spectroscopy), FTIR, Raman, XPS, DLS, electro-kinetic analysis, impedance spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, and SEM. Dr. Radadia’s lab offers their expertise in materials characterization, and developing new surface coatings for potential academic or industrial collaborations.

Research Interest
