Biography

Dr. Christine M. Debouck, PhD serves as President of Ardennes Biosciences LLC. Dr. Debouck has 24 years of experience in directing creative science in diverse areas of research. Dr. Debouck served as Senior Vice President of R&D at GlaxoSmithKline. She is renowned for her expertise in target validation, disease knowledge and compound characterizations as well as for her broad scientific applications of biotechnology, genomics and biomarker discovery in pre-clinical and clinical development, and biomarker evaluation with an emphasis in Oncology and infectious diseases. As a bench scientist in SmithKline & French, she made critical contributions to the field of AIDS research. She led the AIDS Drug Discovery Program in SK&F and SmithKline Beecham before taking on the leadership of the company's genomics initiative. Later in SB and GSK, she was one of the first pharmaceutical industry senior scientists to drive applica­tions of high throughput gene discovery to the identification of novel therapeutic targets. Dr. Debouck served as Senior Vice President, Genomic & Proteomic Sciences at GlaxoSmithKline. As Senior Vice President in GSK, she integrated genomics into cross-therapeutic drug discovery and drug development activities. She has been Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Abeome Corporation since September 10, 2008. She serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Zirus, Inc. She served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of BioMotiv, LLC. In 2003, Dr. Debouck was appointed to the Scientific Board of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation "Grand Challenges for Global Health" initiative. She has authored 116 publications and holds 17 issued patents. She conducted post-doctoral work at the National Cancer Institute, working on the regulation of gene expression. Dr. Debouck received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Zoology-Molecular Biology, summa cum laude from the University of Brussels-Belgium, Department of Genetics. Dr. Debouck received her Ph.D. summa cum laude from the University of Brussels-Belgium, Department of Genetics, where she studied the regulation of prokaryotic transcription and translation.
