Biography
Bhavesh V. (Bob) Patel is chief executive officer and chairman of the management board of LyondellBasell, one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world. Mr. Patel assumed this position January 2015. Mr. Patel first joined LyondellBasell in March of 2010 as senior vice president, Olefins and Polyolefins – Americas. In this role, he successfully led the restructuring of the U.S. business, significantly increasing efficiency. In this role, he also led the development of plans to take advantage of the shale gas expansion in the U.S. In November 2010, he was named senior vice president, Olefins and Polyolefins – Europe, Asia and International, based in the Netherlands.
