Jeremy Barris

Biography

Dr. Jeremy Barris, Professor of Philosophy, recently published his fourth book, Sometimes Always True: Undogmatic Pluralism in Politics, Metaphysics, and Epistemology (Fordham University Press, 2015). He also published an article, “Metaphysics, Deep Pluralism, and Paradoxes of Informal Logic,” in the International Journal of Philosophic Studies, 2015, Vol 23, #1, pp. 59 – 84. In addition, Dr. Barris and a former Humanities major and graduate, Paul Turner— now a graduate philosophy student at De Paul University, Chicago—jointly wrote and published an article “Teaching Early Modern Philosophy as a Bridge Between Causal or Naturalistic and Conceptual Thought,” in Metaphilosophy, Vol 46, #3, July 2015, pp 326 – 343. Dr. Barris and Dr. Jeffrey Ruff in Religious Studies have recently co-written a book titled Rhetoric, Logic, and the Ultimate Questions: Argumentation and Our Relation to Being, East and West​, which is now under review for publication.
