Peter A. Nitze

Biography

Mr. Peter A. Nitze serves as Chief Executive Officer and President at Martek Biosciences Corporation. Mr. Nitze serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of DSM Nutritional Products. Mr. Nitze served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Martek Biosciences Corporation., since September 2005 and September 25, 2006 respectively. He was responsible for Martek's production and research and development activities. He served as a Senior Vice President of Martek Biosciences Corp., since September 2005. Prior to Martek, Mr. Nitze served as a Vice President of Operations at DRS Technologies snf responsible for the alignment and deployment of Martek Biosciences Corp.'s manufacturing and supply chain resources since May 2004. Prior to DRS Technologies, Mr. Nitze served as the Chief Operating Officer of Regulatory DataCorp Inc., from July 2002 to April 2004 and was responsible for managing all aspects of the Goldman Sachs Group 's operations and technology functions. Previously, he held various senior management positions at Honeywell International (formerly AlliedSignal, Inc.), including served as its General Manager of the Opto-electronic Communications Systems Venture and Director of Global Operations for Honeywell International Amorphous Metals Division, a leading manufacturer of amorphous metal foil and components used in electrical and electronic applications. He began his tenure at AlliedSignal at the Electronic Systems strategic business unit, a supplier of avionics, precision guidance devices and sensor systems for aerospace applications, where he led the implementation of an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across its multi-site aerospace business. Prior to AlliedSignal, Mr. Nitze served as a Vice President of Operations at the Elastimold business unit of Thomas & Betts Corporation. Mr. Nitze has over 20 years of operations and general management experience with small, medium and large companies. He began his career at General Electric Company, where he worked in Finance, Graduating from its Financial Management Program. He serves as Director of MdBio, Inc. Mr. Nitze holds a BA (Honors) from Harvard University and a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University. He holds a Fellowship from the Stanford Integrated Manufacturing Association.
