John H. Hammergren

Biography

 John H. Hammergren is chairman, president and chief executive officer of McKesson Corporation. He was elected president and CEO in 2001 and chairman in 2002. Under Mr. Hammergren’s leadership, McKesson has become the leading provider of healthcare services and information technology solutions that help organizations across the healthcare industry improve their business performance and deliver better care to patients. In the time since Mr. Hammergren became CEO, the company has more than quadrupled revenues to $190 billion, expanded into global markets and advanced to number 5 on the Fortune 500. Recognizing his tremendous track record of success, Harvard Business Review named Hammergren as one of their 100 “Top Performing CEOs in the World.” In addition, buy-side analysts, money managers and sell-side researchers identified Hammergren as the 2015 Best CEO for the health care technology and distribution segment. Mr. Hammergren is the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Celesio AG. Additionally, he is currently a member of the Business Council, the Business Roundtable and the Healthcare Leadership Council, as well as the Board of Trustees for the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS).
