Biography
Hamid is a senior partner in our New York office and leads our Americas Risk Practice. He joined the firm in 1997 and has served a number of leading financial institutions in the Americas, Europe, and Asia on a broad range of risk management, strategy, operations, and technology issues. Hamid’s areas of expertise include capital management, credit risk management, operational risk management, risk organization and governance, risk culture, and compliance and controls functions. Hamid’s recent work includes: helping a US bank in its successful resolution plan supporting several US banks on their Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) programs, both in the context of remediation or continuous improvement helping US and foreign banks with other regulatory remediation efforts conducting comprehensive enterprise risk management reviews at several major North American financial institutions helping implement risk management transformations across a broad spectrum of banking institutions conducting risk culture transformations at banks in the US, Canada, and several Latin American countries Hamid has also co-led our research on Basel III (in conjunction with the Clearing House), recovery and resolution planning (in conjunction with Davis-Polk & Wardwell), and risk IT (in conjunction with Institute of International Finance), in addition to overseeing the joint McKinsey–Risk Management Association enterprise risk management survey covering risk functions at over 60 banks globally.
