Biography
Kurt, a senior partner in McKinsey’s New York office, leads our Insurance practice in the Americas, and convenes our global Insurance Leadership team. He serves life and wealth-management firms, P&C insurance companies, and clients in other industries on strategy, corporate finance, organization, and operational performance. In addition to operational improvement programs, Kurt has led major strategy transformations at a number of financial institutions across strategy diagnostics, strategy formulation, strategy capability building, and strategy implementation. He has co-led McKinsey’s governance task force, an effort to prepare the governance of the firm over the next 10 years, and serves talent-driven companies seeking to combine organizational agility and an inclusive ownership culture as part of modern governance. Over the past 10 years, Kurt has also helped to lead pro bono a number of change efforts in education, including work with chancellors in the New York City Department of Education, Harvard University, and Teach for America. He is a member of the board of trustees of Carnegie Hall. Kurt is an amateur classical pianist and lives with his wife and two sons in Scarsdale, NY.
