Biography
Tim has more than 18 years of consulting experience. Since joining McKinsey in 2004, his work has spanned a wide range of healthcare topics for health plans, state healthcare agencies, providers, and health-services companies. Tim is the managing partner of our Southern California office and leads McKinsey’s work in Medicaid and state healthcare. Some examples of his recent work includes serving commercial payors and state Medicaid programs on major healthcare-value efforts, the scale-up of innovative contracting efforts, and exchange and consumer insights; designing and implementing outcomes-based payment-reform programs to support transitions to improved care-delivery models; and leading major payor-transformation programs on topics including operational performance improvement, capital planning, enterprise risk management, corporate and segment strategy, marketing, and pricing. From 2008 to 2012, he was the editor of McKinsey’s Health International journal. Tim serves on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Southern California Leadership Council. Tim has lived in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. He was awarded the Hicks and Webb Medley prize in economics while attending University College, Oxford.
