Michael C. Macdonald

Biography

Michael C. MacDonald, also known as Mike, served as the Chief Executive Officer of Medifast, Inc. from February 8, 2012 to October 3, 2016. Mr. MacDonald has more than 30 years of leadership experience. He served as an Executive Vice President and President of the Global Contract Organization at OfficeMax Incorporated from August 15, 2011 to November 2011. He has spent an additional 33 years in sales, marketing and general management at Xerox Corporation. He served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operational Effectiveness at Xerox Corp. since September 2008. He was responsible for directing Xerox Corp.'s largest global accounts, improving the customer experience, marketing, e-marketing, xerox.com, advertising, marketing public relations and marketing communications. He served as President of the Global Accounts & Marketing Operations at Xerox Corp. from October 2004 to April 2007, Senior Vice President since July 2000. He served as President of Marketing Operations of Xerox Corp. since April 2007. Mr. MacDonald joined Xerox Corp. in 1997 and his former positions include executive positions in the sales and marketing areas. He has served various sales and marketing positions with US LEC Corp. since June 2000. He served as Senior Vice President, marketing and Chief of Staff for North American Solutions Group. He served as President of the North American Solutions Group at Xerox Corp. from 2000 to 2004, where he was responsible for all products, services and solutions sold by the Xerox direct sales force in the United States and Canada. He has been the Executive Chairman of Medifast, Inc. since November 4, 2011 and also its Director since 1998. He has been a Director of Direct Selling Association (Inc) since June 19, 2013. He serves as a Director of PAETEC Communications, Inc., the Rochester Institute of Technology, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Jimmy V Foundation, Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Community Foundation and the board of overseers of Rutgers University. He is a Board member of the CMO Council North American Advisory Board. He served as a Director of US LEC Corp. since April 2003. He served as a Lead Director of PAETEC Holding Corp. since March 6, 2010 and served as its Independent Director since February 2007. Mr. MacDonald received a Bachelor of arts degree in political science from Rutgers University in 1975 and earned 44 MBA Credits at attended Iona College's John C. Hagan School of Business in 1977. He completed executive business and management programs at Columbia University and Harvard in 1992 and 1998, respectively.
