Biography

Mark Allen leads MedPlast’s Orthoplastics operations in the U.K., home of the world’s highest quality premium-grade orthopaedic ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for orthopaedic medical devices. Mark joined MedPlast in 2013 through the acquisition of Orthoplastics, where he served as Technical Director. Previously, he was a polymer research technologist at Rapra Technology (now known as Smithers Rapra) with more than 10 years of service across diverse markets, including the medical device industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in polymer science and technology and additional credentials in production and mechanical engineering. He is a member of the Orthopedic Research Society and a committee member of the American Society for Testing and Materials.
