Biography
Strobel, Gary -- EmeritusProfessor, Ph.D. 1963, Univ. of California-Davis. Isolation and characterization of many novel bioactive compounds from plant pathogenic fungi and bacteria. Dr. Strobel’s current work focuses on the endophytic fungus, Gliocladium roseum, that he discovered in Patagonia. Gliocladium roseum has been shown to produce many of the same hydrocarbons found in diesel fuel.
