Biography
Dr. Melanie Malone received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Malone came to New York to attend Columbia College, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biology. Upon graduating medical school, Dr. Malone completed general surgery and otolaryngology residencies at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Following her residency, Dr. Malone completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and at the New York Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery. Dr. Malone specializes in all issues of adult head and neck surgery. She is particularly interested in MOHS surgery and reconstructions, facial paralysis reconstructions, rhinoplasty to improve breathing, scar revisions, excisions of face and neck lesions, facial soft tissue trauma or facial fractures, and repairs of cleft lip and cleft palate. As part of her fellowship, Dr. Malone had advanced training in aesthetic surgery with a focus on aging face surgery (facelift, eyelid rejuvenation) as well as cosmetic rhinoplasty. In addition to her clinical practice at Montefiore, Dr. Malone participates in international medical missions to treat complex pediatric congenital malformations cleft lip, cleft palate and microtia, a congenital deformity where the outer ear is not fully developed.
