Ric Caric

Biography

Originally from upstate New York, Ric Caric attended college at St. Lawrence University and received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Caric teaches in the Honors, Women’s Studies, and First Year Seminar Programs and is currently coordinating the Forum on Culture, Politics, and Society, a weekly current events forum on the Morehead State University campus. Caric is an interdisciplinary scholar whose articles have been published in philosophy, history, and semiotics journals. His most recent article is a local history of delirium tremens in Philadelphia and will be published this year by Wilfred Laurier University Press in Cheryl Warsh, ed., Gender, Health, and Popular Culture: Historical Perspectives. Caric is also working on a long-term project on the transformation of popular culture in Philadelphia between 1785 and 1850 and has been doing research with several students on African-American political thought.
