Nicholas C. Nicolaides Ph.d.

Biography

 Dr. Nicholas C. Nicolaides, also known as Nick, Ph.D. co-founded Morphotek, Inc. in 1999 and has been its Chief Executive Officer and President since 2000. Dr. Nicolaides serves as Chief Science Officer of Morphotek Inc. Prior thereto, He served as the Director of Research at the Magainin Institute of Molecular Medicine, a division of Magainin Pharmaceuticals Inc. He served as the Director of Research at the Magainin Institute of Molecular Medicine, a division of Magainin Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is a trained molecular geneticist and has authored a number of scientific papers on the molecular and genetic basis of cancer and respiratory diseases. . Dr. Nicolaides received his Ph.D. in Human genetics at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA and continued his post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, where he co-invented morphogenics. He also received his B.S. in Biology at St. Joseph's University. Dr. Nicolaides is an author on more than 50 original publications and is an inventor on numerous patents for developing bio-based therapies and therapeutic compositions. He was awarded Ernst & Young's 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year for the Greater Philadelphia Region.
