Biography
Dr. Bauer graduated from the University of Vermont cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from New York University Medical School in 1967. Dr. Bauer went on to complete six years of residency at Mount Sinai in 1973. He was a Major in the United States Air Force and Chief of Surgery at Rickenbacker Air Force Base from 1974 to l975. Dr. Bauer returned to the attending staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital in 1975. Currently Dr. Bauer is Clinical Professor of Surgery. Areas of specialization are gastrointestinal (colorectal) abdominal wall and minimally invasive abdominal surgery.
