Dale M. Cooper

Biography

 Dale M. Cooper, DVM, MS, DACLAM, is the Director of Clinical Medicine and Attending Veterinarian at MPI Research. He received his DVM in veterinary medicine from the University of Wisconsin and an MS in clinical laboratory science at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cooper is responsible for the oversight of the veterinary care, and husbandry departments, as well as overall oversight for animal welfare to ensure that animal studies are conducted in accordance with the AAALAC guidelines and USDA requirements. He is also responsible for the professional aspects of the department of clinical medicine, which provides the veterinary care program for the entire laboratory animal population of MPI Research. Prior to joining MPI Research, Dr. Cooper gained experience as a veterinary practitioner, program director, principal research scientist, and director of animal health in academia, industry, animal supplier, and other contract research laboratories. He has published in the areas of laboratory animal analgesia, husbandry, microbiology and surgical asepsis. Dr. Cooper, an ACLAM Diplomate, has over 20 years of experience in biomedical research and the direct support of animal research and testing.
