Dr. Kenneth A. Pisciotto

Biography

 Ken Pisciotto is senior vice president of engineering. He assumed responsibilities for HSB’s inspection services and insurance engineering risk management operations in January 2012.   Dr. Pisciotto has over 38 years international technical and business experience in the energy, natural resources and insurance industries. His background includes expertise in earth sciences, petroleum exploration, resource assessment, risk analysis and loss control engineering.   Before joining HSB in 2009, Dr. Pisciotto was senior vice president at American International Group, Inc., now Chartis Insurance, where for 15 years he managed loss control engineering services for the company’s environmental specialty products.   Prior to his tenure with Chartis, Dr. Pisciotto held a variety of positions in the private sector including exploration geologist and manager with Standard Oil and British Petroleum and as an independent consultant specializing in resource, environmental and risk analysis. He also worked in public sector positions in research and instruction with Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the United States Geological Survey and the University of California.   Dr. Pisciotto holds both bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in geology and earth sciences from Stanford University and a doctorate from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
