He is currently leading the integration of recently-acquired Biwater Treatment in the U.K. with operations in the U.S. to strengthen our team and construction service offering to clients across the globe. Prior to becoming president, Lavoie lead the municipal division of MWH Constructors as the director of U.S. operations. Prior to coming to MWH, Lavoie served in a variety of project development and operational management roles for a number of large design and construction organizations. These diverse roles allowed him to oversee the management and administration of all aspects of engineering and construction projects, providing Lavoie with a comprehensive understanding of the pulse and direction of the water infrastructure industry as a whole. Lavoie played an instrumental role in helping to shape the construction industry’s adoption of alternative project delivery models such as design-build and CMAR. This in-depth understanding of a complex industry has enabled Lavoie, as a board member, senior vice president and now president, to build MWH Constructors into a profitable construction business primed for continued growth. Lavoie received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Norwich University in 1984, where he currently serves as a Fellow. He also graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and has been an MWH board member since 2002. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina and Vermont, as well as a licensed general contractor in Florida, Arizona, Nevada and South Carolina.
