Biography
Jerry Neumann is the Board of Directors at Nanocomp technologies.He is a veteran venture investor, investing in technology startups for the past two decades. After college he joined IBM and designed part of the CP microcode execution engine for the S/390 series of mainframes. He left IBM for business school and then joined Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group as a management consultant. In 1995, he joined Prodigy Communications, one of the first consumer internet providers.He left Prodigy to run Omnicom Group's venture capital division, Communicade. Communicade invested in many of the early internet startups. In 2001, Jerry partnered with an outside investor to acquire Communicade, which he ran until its successful liquidation in 2007. In 2005, he co-founded Root Markets,building a marketplace to allow consumers to sell their own personal data.He formed Neu Venture Capital in 2008 to invest in early-stage technology companies. He was named one of New York City's top early stage investors by Business Insider in 2012.He teaches Managing Technological Innovation at the Columbia University School of Engineering. He has lectured on entrepreneurship at Columbia Business School, NYU’s Sloan School of Business, and the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He received a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia and an MBA from NYU.
