Maureen Hatch

Biography
Dr. Hatch received an M.P.H. and Ph.D. in epidemiology from Columbia University, and was on the faculty of the Columbia School of Public Health and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She joined NCI in May 2002, serving on the Chernobyl Research Unit and conducting research on the nuclear power plant accident at Three Mile Island. She is an elected member of the American Epidemiological Society and a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology.
Research Interest
Cancer risks among workers and residents exposed to radiation as a result of the 1986 accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant; In particular, Dr. Hatch is interested in studying thyroid disease among those who were in utero when the accident occurred; Women's health (reproduction, thyroid disease)
