Biography
Dr. Maththew P. Dearing has over 15 years of experience in the Department of Defense community, including research on international security and comparative political violence, with fieldwork in Africa and Afghanistan. As an ethnographer working with U.S. Special Operations and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, he has designed collection and analysis protocols for complex multi-methods research projects in austere conflict environments. His qualitative research findings and methodological techniques are published in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals.
