Biography
​​​​Rashada Alexander, Ph.D., is a program director in the Center for Research Capacity Building, where she manages the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) co-funding initiative as well the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) and Support of Competitive Research (SCORE) programs. Before coming to NIGMS, Alexander was the special assistant to NIH’s principal deputy director, where she served as a point of contact for issues related to sexual- and gender- minority research and the rigor and reproducibility of research findings. Alexander earned her B.S. in chemistry from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Kentucky. She completed postdoctoral work at the University of Kentucky and at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
