Biography
​​Dr. Saraswathy “Sara” Seetharam, is a scientific review officer in the Office of Scientific Review, where she manages the initial peer review of applications for funding from a wide variety of NIGMS programs. Sara initially came to NIGMS as a contractor after having served in a similar position at CSR. She earned a B.S. in biochemistry and nutrition from the University of Madras, a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Mysore, India, and did postdoctoral research at NCI. Later, as a faculty member in the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the University of Chicago, her research was on developing combined therapeutic strategies for various cancers.
