Biography
Diego Esparza is an Assistant Professor of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. His research and teaching focus on the role that police play in politics, public security reform, and military behavior in public security crises, with a regional specialization in Latin America. Dr. Esparza is currently developing a book manuscript comparing the evolution of police in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.
Research Interest
The focus of research work investigates the correlation between organizational structures within each police system and their malfeasant practices. He has been published in Comparative Political Studies and the Annual Review of Political and Military Sociology.
