Dr. Warren M. Grill, Ph.D, Co-Founded NDI Medical LLC and serves as its Managing Director and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Grill serves as Managing Director and Chief Scientific Officer of NDI Medical LLC, Investment Arm. Dr. Grill served as the Managing Director of SPR Therapeutics LLC until July 13, 2017. He is the Founder of Deep Brain Innovations, LLC and serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. He serves as the Chief Scientific Advisor of SPR Therapeutics Llc. Dr. Grill serves as a Consultant to the FDA’s Neurological Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering, on the editorial boards of Brain Stimulation, Journal of Neural Engineering, Neuromodulation and Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing and as Senior Technical Editor for Neurotech Business Report. He expertise in neural engineering and neural prostheses including design and testing of electrodes and stimulation techniques, the electrical properties of tissues and cells and computational neuroscience with applications in restoration of bladder function, treatment of movement disorders with deep brain stimulation and multi-joint limb movement. He serves as Director of NDI Medical LLC, Investment Arm and NDI Medical, LLC. He served as a Director of SPR Therapeutics LLC until July 13, 2017. He serves as an Addy Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, Durham, N.C., with secondary appointments in Neurobiology and Surgery. He has authored 110 peer-reviewed publications and inventing over 20 awarded and pending patents in the field. In 2007 he was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, in 2008 received the Capers & Marion McDonald Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research at Duke University and in 2009 was inducted into the Bass Society of Fellows at Duke for excellence in teaching and research. Dr. Grill received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering with honors from Boston University and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.
