William Prout

Biography

 William F. Prout is a registered patent attorney with expertise in a wide range of chemical patent practice including preparing a wide range of documents including applications, opinions, licenses and patent prosecution. Areas of expertise include drug formulations, drug delivery systems, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical treatments, polymers, paints, nutraceuticals and catalysts, including related opinion and licensing matters. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from DePaul University, and received his Masters in Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago in Organic Chemistry, specializing in natural product synthesis. He received his law degree from the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. He has worked as a patent agent at the B.F. Goodrich Company in Akron, OH, Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL, and at Darby & Darby in New York, NY, and as a patent attorney in Minneapolis, MN.
