Biography
Dr. Nirmala Murthy is an honorary president of the Foundation for Research in Health System, a non-government research organization, which she helped create in 1989. She has a Masters degree in statistics from Bombay University, India (1967), and a doctorate from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA (1974). In 1974, she joined the faculty of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, doing research and training in the area of public health management.
