Robert J. Phillippy

Biography

  Mr. Robert J. Phillippy, also known as Bob, served as the President of Newport Corp. since July 2004 and servedas its Chief Executive Officer since September 2007. Mr. Phillippy has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, as well as new product innovation and international business development. Mr. Phillippy served as the Chief Operating Officer of Newport Corp. since July 2004 until September 2007 and its General Manager of Industrial and Scientific Technologies Division of U S Operations since August 1999 and its Vice President since April 1996, where he spearheaded its transition from a provider of discrete components and instruments primarily for scientific research customers to a manufacturer of both components and integrated systems for both research and commercial applications. He served as Vice President of Channel Marketing of Square D Company from 1994 to 1996. He joined Square D Company in 1984 as a Sales Engineer and held various sales and marketing management positions with Square D Company and served as its Vice President since 1994. He has been a Director of MKS Instruments, Inc. since July 1, 2016. He has been a Director of Newport Corp. since October 5, 2007. He has been an Independent Director of ESCO Technologies Inc. since May 05, 2014.
