Biography
Dr. Matthews is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He received his medical degree and graduated with honors from Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania. Dr. Matthews completed his residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, and his fellowship in cardiology at Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Matthews joined Northeast Georgia Heart Center and helped start the cardiac care program in Braselton. He has been the lead physician for this community and the surrounding areas. Dr. Matthews is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology.
