Biography
I am committed to using data to improve outcomes, specifically health-related quality of life. Intracerebral hemorrhage (bleeding into the brain) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (ruptured brain aneurysm) are model diseases. Data are provided by prospective case ascertainment, in-house database design, automated data retrieval, and patient reported outcomes. Formal training in biostatistics underscores rational analysis and model building. Data from our group are frequently cited in guidelines for care. My ongoing work is funded by the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
