Nadya R Ally

Biography

Bio Nadya Ally is the Technical Communications Specialist at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Nadya graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2013 with her Bachelors. Upon graduation, she began working at ORNL as a HERE (Higher Education Research Experiences) intern in the Sensors and Controls Group. Nadya, alongside her mentor and other project counterparts, developed semi-automated equipment for the NASA Pu-238 (Plutonium-238) project. She also assisted in the development of a carbon fiber sensor stationed at ORNL’s Carbon Fiber Technology Facility (CFTF) to monitor the oxidation process of carbon fiber in real time. Nadya was also responsible for the documentation on these projects, which included writing user manuals and troubleshooting guides. Currently, Nadya holds a Post Bachelor Position at the MDF. Her work focuses on technical communications, which involves facilitating tours, 3D printing displays to showcase research being conducted at MDF, and preparing project overviews as well as documentation. Nadya communicates with other groups outside of MDF including the AMO (Advanced Manufacturing Office) and IACMI (Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation).
