Biography
My research focuses on the factors that influence dietary and weight management behaviors. In particular, I am interested in habit formation, strategies, and the role of self-monitoring in weight management. I also apply life-course theory to understanding how individuals’ life histories and current lifestyle factors impact their dietary and weight management behaviors. My current study uses a mixed methods approach to understand individuals’ perspectives and experiences with food and eating, dietary change, and weight management following bariatric surgery. My goal is to uncover strategies and develop screening tools or counseling methods to help individuals succeed in maintaining weight loss.
