Biography
Dr. Hays is Interim Associate Dean for the School of Nursing at Oakland University and has been a faculty member since 2008. Prior to her position as Interim Associate Dean, she was Director of the Nurse Practitioner Program for Oakland from 2011-2014. Accomplishments in this position include increasing the number of community partnerships; improving pass rates on National Certification Exams with a 100% pass rate over the past two years, and implementing several pilot programs with local health partners to improve health outcomes for Michigan residents. Before arriving at Oakland, Dr. Hays held several clinical positions as a Nurse Practitioner at various health systems in Southeast Michigan and Northern Indiana. In these positions she developed several new programs. She is a former full time faculty member at Bethel College School of Nursing in South Bend, Indiana. Her research interests include improving health outcomes for patients transitioning from various health settings to the home and cardiovascular disease in women. She currently maintains her clinical practice at Beaumont Health System and is in charge of the clinical research for the Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center.
