Biography
Dr. Pittiglio came to Oakland in 1999 and was recently promoted to Associate Professor. Her research interests include coping mechanisms of African American mothers who are living with HIV/AIDS and sexual risk taking behaviors that put young African American women in jeopardy of contracting HIV. Additionally, she continues to examine the impact of simulation on student outcomes. She sits on a number of committees at Oakland and the SON. She has published articles in Nurse Education Today, Journal of Child and Family Studies and AIDS Care.
