Biography

Patrick Frazee has been an adjunct instructor at Oakland University since 1992. His practical approach and depth of experience gives students a sense of real world problems and effective problem solving skills. Mr. Frazee received a Bachelor of Science degree from General Motors Institute (GMI), now Kettering University, in Material Science. In addition, he has earned a Master of Science in Environmental and Industrial Health from the University of Michigan and a Master of arts in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University. Mr. Frazee has published articles in the fields of safety culture and industrial hygiene. Prior to and outside of Oakland University, Mr. Frazee has had an outstanding career spanning over 40 years at General Motors. Starting out as a cooperative student with GMI and then worked as an industrial hygienist for 15 years. In 1989, he served as a project manager at the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources, Health and Safety. Starting in 1995 he took on various executive roles including Manager of Health & Safety, GM North American Operations as well as executive roles at the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources. Mr. Frazee was a member of AIHA for 35 years (retired 2008). He was elected as a GM Safety Fellow in 1998. He has been a member of the Industry Advisory Board for EHS at OU since 2002. He also served as Dean of the Health and Safety College at GM University, GM’s corporate lifelong learning institution, from 1996 to 2005. He earned the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist designation by the American Board of Industrial Hygienists (from 1978 through 2008; retired in 2008) and the nationally recognized Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
