Biography

Mr. J. Michael Pearson, also known as Mike, has been Chief Executive Officer and President at Synergetics USA, Inc. since October 10, 2015. Mr. Pearson has been the Chief Executive Officer and President at Solta Medical, Inc. since January 2014. He has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Obagi Medical Products, Inc. since April 25, 2013. He has been Consultant of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. since May 3, 2016. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. from September 2010 to April 2016. He joined Valeant in February 2008 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Valeant, he served as the Head of the Global Pharmaceutical Practice and Head of mid-Atlantic region of McKinsey & Company. Over a 23-year career, he served with leading Chief Executive Officers and was an integral driver of major turnarounds, acquisitions, and corporate strategy. He has been a Director of Salix Pharmaceuticals Ltd. since April 1, 2015. He served as a Director of McKinsey & Company. He is an Eagle Scout. Mr. Pearson served as Chairman of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc from March 2011 to February 28 , 2016. He has been a Director of Solta Medical, Inc., since January 2014 and Obagi Medical Products, Inc. since April 25, 2013. He has been a Director of Synergetics USA, Inc. since October 15, 2015. He served as a Director of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc from February 1, 2008 to June 14, 2016. Mr. Pearson holds a B.S. and BSE from Duke University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and earned an MBA from the University of Virginia, winning the Shermet Award.
