Biography

Dr. Martin Brick joined Ohio Dominican University in 2009. He studied British Literature at Marquette University and wrote his dissertation on James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. Drawing on his interest in Modernism, Dr. Brick has developed two primary interests in his teaching and scholarship: 1) experimental forms of narrative (His favorite course to teach is Studies in the Novel, which he casually calls his “weird books course.”) 2) trauma and dehumanization in the 20th century and religion’s response to it through literature. Dr. Brick has published or presented on authors such as James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, Don DeLillo, David Foster Wallace, and Mark Z. Danielewski.
