Biography

Michael V. Dougherty joined the Philosophy faculty at Ohio Dominican University in 2003. His research in the history of philosophy focuses on Medieval and Renaissance philosophy, and ethics. In 2009, he received Ohio Dominican University's Conley Award, given annually to a professor for outstanding teaching. He has served as the Resident Director for ODU’s Education Abroad program in Rome, Italy. He is author of Moral Dilemmas in Medieval Thought: From Gratian to Aquinas (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2011), and he has edited Pico della Mirandola: New Essays (New York: Cambridge University Press, 2008) and Aquinas’s ‘Disputed Questions on Evil: A Critical Guide’ (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2016).
