Biography
Dr. Davidson is Professor and Chair of the Philosophy and Rhetoric Department at Oklahoma City University. He regularly teaches courses in the areas of ethics, political philosophy, Ancient Greek philosophy, and Contemporary Continental philosophy. He is co-editor of the Journal of French and Francophone Philosophy (www.jffp.org) and was founding editor of Etudes Ricoeuriennes/Ricoeur Studies (ricoeur.pitt.edu). He has translated six books from French, including most recently Johann Michel’s Ricoeur and the Post-Structuralists (Rowman&Littlefield, 2014), Michel Henry's From Communism to Capitalism (Bloomsbury, 2014) and Didier Franck's Flesh and Body (Bloomsbury, 2014). He is co-editor of the forthcoming book, Hermeneutics and Phenomenology in Paul Ricoeur (Springer, 2016) as well as the books Totality and Infinity at 50 (Duquesne, 2012) and Ricoeur Across the Disciplines (Continuum, 2010). He has published more than twenty articles and book chapters on issues in contemporary Continental thought.
