Biography
Dr. Wansley came to the College in 2004 as its first Vice President of Sponsored Programs, Research, and Institutional Advancement. In 2008, he resigned his administrative position to continue his academic career in research and teaching. Dr. Wansley lectures and conducts seminars on health-related public policy issues, in particular healthcare workforce. He also assists other Departmental faculty members with various clinical skills courses, such as Advanced Interviewing Skills.PhD in Biological Psychology, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centerand Fellowship in Public Health Policy Leadership at University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health
Research Interest
Dr. Wansley’s current research interests pertain to studying the status of Oklahoma’s mental health workforce and the implications on future public policy in the state. He also is a collaborator with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services on research regarding the outcomes of policy establishing Mental Health Courts in Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Florida. Dr. Wansley is a Co-Investigator on research evaluating the Tulsa-based project known as “Building Tulsa, Building Lives”, an effort addressing mental illness and chronic homelessness.
